Junior Trey McCrae goes up for a floater in action played at Hays Middle School against Life Prep Academy.

The boys basketball traveled to Pratt on Tuesday to sweep the Green Backs in a 94-55 victory for the Indians. In the first quarter, the Indians had a hot hand, taking 15 three-pointers and cashing in on 10 of them. Pratt kept the score manageable in the first half with a score 35-22 with the Indians leading. Senior Cole Murphy showed a new-found confidence in this game scoring a career high of 23 points in the first half.

The Indians pushed their lead early in the second half to 43 with a score of 82-39 at the end of the quarter. The Green Backs seemed to have no chance at a comeback with a massive deficit and the fourth quarter with a running clock. The Indians seemed to find everyone shots even their bench with senior Nick Fisher and Kyler Koenke also reaching a new career high of 12.

The Indians improve to 3-1 on the season and will matchup against the Junction City Blue Jays on Dec. 12.

“We enjoy playing, and the kids worked hard today,” coach Rick Keltner said. “We’re going to keep getting in better shape throughout the season.”
