Soccer team falls to WAC rivals Great Bend

The 2017 boys soccer team

The boys soccer team took on the Great Bend Panthers in their second WAC game of the season losing 5-2.

The Panthers struck first the second minute of the game making the score 1-0. Great Bend continued their scoring in the 18th minute extending the lead to 2-0 over the Indians.  The Indians would fight back with a goal of their own in the 20th minute with a goal scored by senior Ethan Nunnery to bring the game within one making the score 2-1.

The second half started off with a goal from the Panthers in the 50th minute extending their lead back to two. Junior Conner Teget cut Great Bends lead back to 1. The Indians ended the game trailing by three with a score of 5-2.

The Indians record drops to 4-2 on the season and 0-2 in the WAC. The soccer team will face Dodge City in their home opener at 4 p.m.  on Sept. 14 at the Hays High soccer field.
