Volleyball wins season opener on Sept. 1
The volleyball team opened the season with two wins in the Larned Tri on Sept. 1.
For first match, the Indians won 25-13 and 25-15 against Larned. In that match, senior Tessa Stickel had six kills while senior Audra Schmeidler followed with four kills. Schmeidler also added four serving aces. Senior Albany Schaffer led the way with 12 digs. Senior Kylie Brown added three blocks and senior Taylor Groen-Younger had 11 assists.
The second match against Lacrosse, the Indians won 27-25 and 25-19. Stickel again led the way with 10 kills and Brown followed with eight. Groen-Younger led the way with 17 assists while Schaffer had two service aces and 14 digs.
The Indians’ next game is Sept. 10 in Dodge City.
