The lady Indians basketball team takes their second win of the year as they win over Colby, 39-35, on Dec. 11.

With the win, the Indians improved to 2-3 on the year as they head into their final game against Junction City before Christmas break.

After one point lead in the first quarter in which Hays built a 6-5 lead, Colby outscored the Indians 11-8 in the second quarter where the score at the half was Colby 16-14. In the second half the Indians started to pull away from Colby scoring 15-7 lead in the third. In the fourth quarter Colby lead the quarter 12-10 to account for the final score.

Haley George had 10 points on 4-10 shooting from the two-point range and 0-0 from behind the arc. She also had one assist and nine rebounds. Ashlyn Parrish and Talyn Klewno both put up seven points.

Emily Peckham added 5 points, while Audra Schmeidler and Summer Smith both contributed four. Finishing the scoring were Mattie Schlaefli and Nichole Dinkel with two.
