Boys basketball cruises past Pratt, 71-42

The boys basketball team had little difficulty chalking up its third win of the year as it cruised past Pratt, 71-42, on Dec. 9.

With the win, the Indians improved to 3-1 on the year heading into their final two games before Christmas break against Colby and Junction City.

After a relatively close first quarter in which Hays built a 24-18 lead, the Indians outscored the Greenbacks by a 34-11 margin over the next two quarters to take a commanding 58-29 advantage into the final period. The two teams then exchanged 13 points apiece in the final stanza to account for the final score.

Isaiah Nunnery had 23 points on 9-11 shooting from two-point range and 4-4 from behind the arc. He also dished out 10 assists and pulled down six rebounds. Keith Dryden and Brady Werth were also in double figures with 22 and 12 points, respectively.

Cash Hobson added five points, while Dylan Davis and Bryce Ficken both contributed three. Rounding out the scoring were Xander Swayne with two and Eathan Nunnery with one.
