Boys cross country take sixth at the Salina Invitational

The boys cross country team also took sixth at their meet in Salina. They were in a pool of 9 teams, and finished with 112 points.

Taking first was Dodge City with only 68 points, followed by Clay Center and Wichita West, with 74 and 107 points. Salina South and Maize South took fourth and fifth, both with 108 points. Coming in behind Hays were Goddard Eisenhower with 154, Salina Central with 167 and Wichita Heights with 208.

SophomoreZachary Hopp placed 4th with a time of 17:28. He was followed by sophomore Ethan Shippy in19th with a time of 18:12. Taking 26th was freshman Allen Zollinger with a time of 18:23. Senior Dylan Schmitt took 32nd and had a time of 18:45. Schmitt was followed by sophomore Caden Cunningham taking 35th with a time of 18:58. With a time of 19:22 and in 43rd place was freshman Hunter Olsen. Rounding out the varsity scores was senior Konner Buxton in 47th with a time of 19:29.

The next cross country action will be at WAC, which will be held in Hays on Oct. 16.
