Volleyball now 11-2 after Garden City Quad on Sept. 18

Recently traveling to Garden City for the Garden City Quad, the Lady Indian volleyball team went 1-2 beating Pratt and losing to Ulysses and Garden City.

In the game against Pratt, the Indians won both matches with 25-14 and 25-16 decisions. Junior Albany Schaffer had 13 digs while senior Ashlyn Parish and juniors Tessa Stickel and Kylie Brown all had four kills each. Juniors Taylor Groen Younger and Madison Prough each had six assists for the game.

Things started smoothly for the team against Ulysses as the squad won with a 25-20 decision in the first match but lost the second match 21-25. Sending the game into a third and final match, the Indians lost in a 26-28 decision.

Schaffer had 18 digs and Brown had eight blocks. Parish led with 11 kills while Stickel and Brown each had 10 kills. Prough and Groen Younger also each had 11 assists.

The girls weren’t able to turn the night around as they lost against the hosting team, Garden City, in 23-25 and 23-25 decisions. Schaffer had 12 digs, Brown had seven kills and Prough had 11 assists.

The Indians, now 11-2, will play next on Saturday, Sept. 27 at the Newton Tournament.
