Indian golf takes Second

The girls golf team took second at the Salina Central Invitational Sept. 9.
The Indians compiled a nine-hole total of 174 to follow Manhattan with a 169. Great Bend took third with a 196, while Salina Central finished next with a 206. Other teams were Salina South, 207; Hutchinson JV, 211; Newton, 215; Concordia, 225; Emporia, 237; Clay Center, 244.

Individually, sophomore Katie Brungardt took first with a 39. Senior Lexie Schaben shot a 43 for seventh place, followed by junior Taylor DeBoer in eighth with a 44. Senior Elissa Jenson scored a 48, sophomore Rhian Patterson carded a 49 and senior Summer Smith scored a 53. In a separate Par 3 tournament Junior Emily Prine scored a 36.

The golfers will travel to Dodge City for a 1 p.m. tournament on Sept. 11.
