Hopp leads boys cross country to fifth place at Great Bend
Sophomore Zachary Hopp earned 10th place at Great Bend on Sept. 5 to lead the boys cross country team to a fifth-place overall finish.
Hopp was the lone medalist for the Indians with a time of 18:30. He was followed by sophomore Ethan Shippy in 19th with a time of 18:47 and freshman Allen Zollinger in 28th with a time of 19:30. Rounding out the varsity were sophomore Caden Cunningham, 37th, 20:14; and senior Konner Buxton, 40th, 20:43.
As a team, the Indians finished with 115 points, well behind Garden City with 31. Taking second and third with 70 points were Liberal and Great Bend. Salina South was fourth with 110. Rounding out the team scoring were Hutchinson with 128 and Holcomb with 157.
