Boys soccer wins against Independence on Sept. 14

The boys’ soccer team came home with another win on Sept. 14 where it beat Independence 4-3.

The boys are now 2-2 to start off the season.

Independence scored the first goal of the game in the fourth minute but Hays tied the game up in the 23rd minute of the game with a goal made by junior Nathan Romme with an assist from senior Shawn Herrman.

In the 39th minute, senior Eirik Legernes scored the teams’ second goal with eight seconds to spare before the end of the first half making the score 2-1 going into the second half.

Junior Nathan Romme started off the second half, scoring a goal in the 45th minute. Senior Shawn Herrmann scored the team’s fourth goal in the 48th minute of the game assisted by Romme.

Independence scored their second goal in the 75th minute and then scored in the last minute with one second remaining to make the score 4-3.
