Volleyball goes 1-2 at Dodge City Quad on Sept. 12

The Indian volleyball squad is now 4-4 after it went to Dodge City Quad Sept. 12 where it went 1-2 beating Sublette and losing to Dodge City and Lakin.

Against Sublet, the Indians opened with a 25-13 decision in the first game but suffered a 21-25 setback in the second. In the third and deciding game, Hays posted a 25-10 win.

Things started out smooth for the team against Dodge City as the squad won with a 25-21 decision in the first game but lost the second game 14-25 sending the match into a third game. In the final game it lost 17-25 decision.

The girls weren’t able to turn it around as they lost against Lakin in two games. High lost the first game with a 21-25 decision and lost it in the second game with a 16-25 decision.

Sophomore Albany Schaffer led the way along with sophomores Madison Prough and Tessa Stickel.  Schaffer had 24 digs, Prough had 26 assists and Stickel had 14 kills.

The next action for the team will be the quad at Salina Central Dual on Sept. 17.
