Volleyball goes 2-1 at Goodland Quad

The Indian volleyball squad went to Goodland Quad Sept. 10 where it won against Burlington and TMP and lost against Goodland.

Against Burlington, the Indians opened with a 25-17 decision in the first game but suffered a 15-25 setback in the second. In the third and deciding game, Hays posted a 25-21 win.

Things didn’t go so well against Goodland as the squad suffered a 22-25 decision in the first game and a 17-25 decision in the second game.

The girls picked it back up winning against TMP in the third game. Hays High won the first game with a 25-15 decision but lost it in the second game with a 13-25 decision. The girls won the match in the third game with a 25-21 decision.

Sophomores Albany Schaffer and Madison Prough along with junior Ashlyn Parish and senior Haley Wells led the way.  Schaffer had 57 digs, Prough and Wells had 17 assists each while Parish had 13 kills.

The next action for the team will be the quad at Dodge City on Sept. 12 followed by the Salina Central Dual Sept. 17.

The girls are now 3-2 to start off the season.
