Journalism and broadcasting programs earn awards

During March, Hays High’s journalism and broadcasting programs received the results from their recent competitions.

Newspaper and yearbook students had 44 entries out of the 50 entered receive recognition in the regional round of the Kansas Scholastic Press Association (KSPA) competition. Tribe Broadcasting had six projects that earned recognition in the Kansas Association of Broadcasters (KAB) competition.

The KSPA contest has many different categories that students could compete in, including design, photography, videography and writing competitions. Students who placed in the top six in their categories will compete in the state KSPA contest in April with results to be announced in early May.

Tribe Broadcasting earned recognition for multiple radio and television projects in the state-wide KAB competition.
