Student Council sponsored a blood drive on Friday, Sept. 3 in the library from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Students above the age of 17 could donate without parental consent, but ones who were 16 had to have parental consent. The blood drive was not open to people under the age of 16 or to those did not have consent from their parents or guardians. This blood drive was open to all community members.

Each blood drive has a goal to collect a certain number of units. This time, they ended up not reaching their goal of 30. In total they got 28 units, a two-unit difference from the goal.

During November, StuCo will sponsor another blood drive, which will take place for a longer period.

“I want to meet our goal next time,” new StuCo sponsor Jayme Goetz said. “Our goal is going to be higher in November since we have it run longer. So my goal is to get around 65 to 70 units.”
