Prom royalty was announced at 8 p.m. on April 10 at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Senior Dalyn Schwarz won Prom King.

“Prom week for me was really busy,” Schwarz said. “Between the dress-up days, first two baseball games, video and pictures, it was hectic, but I had a good time. Prom was definitely different being outside, although you couldn’t have asked for better weather.”

There was tie for Queen, as both senior Alisara Arial and senior Maggie Robben were crowned Queen.

“I think it’s unique that we ended up with two queens,” Robben said.

Arial also echoed that, saying she thought it was nice that both were recognized.

All candidates were surprised when they found out they won.

“I was really surprised to win, even with a lot of people telling me they thought I would,” Schwarz said. “It just came as a shock to me.”

Arial said she was genuinely not expecting to be crowned.

“I never saw myself as someone who would even have a chance,” Arial said.

Robben said she was grateful the weather cooperated.

“It was a beautiful day outside which made everything so much better,” Robben said.
