Foreign Language Honor Society sells roses for Valentine’s Day
Members of the Foreign Language Honor Society (FLHS) sold roses after school on Feb. 13.
“FLHS decided to sell flowers as it was considered a good fundraising idea, especially with Valentine’s Day being that week,” FLHS vice president senior Emily Goetz said.
Since people tend to buy flowers for Valentine’s Day, this fundraiser offered students the opportunity to easily purchase flowers for their loved ones while benefitting FLHS.
“We figured people would want to buy flowers for friends, family, etc., and it was convenient as it’s within the school, so it saved people time from having to run to the store,” Goetz said.
White, red, orange and pink roses were available for purchase.
This is the second year the society has sold roses.
“I believe the sales this year compared to the amount we have sold in previous years were a little less as we had to up the price since we purchased the roses at a greater cost,” Goetz said.
