National Honor Society meets during PRIDE Time on Nov. 25 to discuss upcoming events
National Honor Society held a meeting during PRIDE Time on Nov. 25 to discuss upcoming events.
As a reminder, Community Service Hours are due by Dec. 20.
“You log has to be signed by whoever was in charge of the event,” co-sponsor Kayla Brown said. “Parents and family members cannot sign your log.”
NHS will also be selling basketball programs throughout the season.
“The money we raise will go towards the scholarship we award and supplies for induction,” Brown said.
The focus of NHS in the coming weeks is the Holiday Help Project.
“This year we have 12 families that have been selected by counselors and administration,” Brown said. “The families are anonymous. We [the NHS sponsors] don’t know who they are, and you won’t know who they are either.”
Eleven of those families will receive groceries. Members selected grocery lists at the end of the meeting and will buy and return those items by Dec. 6. There were 18 different lists to pick from.
“Watch for the schedule so you can decide if you want to help with purchasing items, if you want to help with wrapping the weekend before break,” Brown said.
