Freshmen Noah Bruggeman and Ansen Miner sell baked goods to raise funds for the Debate and Forensics team.

To build up the Debate and Forensics activity fund, the two teams worked together to host a bake sale on Aug. 17.

The funds would be used to cover expenses not covered by the general fund budget, such as hotel expenses, guest speakers and incurred expenses for hosting tournaments.

“We also sold a few family garage sale items and customized slime made by my daughter,” instructor Codi Fenwick said. “Nicole Howard’s organic cucumbers were also a big hit.”

The team made $280 through the bake sale.

The next bake sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 21 at the next Northglen Antique’s Flea Market.

“It is the same day as our host tournament, so we will split the bake goods donations between both locations,” Fenwick said. “Nicole Howard is also making more jars of dill pickles from her organic cucumbers.”
