Six drama club students had the opportunity to tour the backstage of Felten Theatre at Fort Hays State University. The tour was led by FHSU technical director Debra Holmes.

The six students that toured the Felten Theatre on Feb. 28 were senior Devon Nichols, senior Madeline Mewhinney, freshman Emry Lundy, freshman Sydney Wittkorn, freshman Kennedy Brown and freshman Dustin Rajewski.

The students met up at 6:30 p.m and started the tour at 6:45 p.m and were back in their seats by 7:30 p.m when the play “Barefoot in the Park” started.

They were able to see the upstairs, downstairs, backstage, and see the lighting boards in the balcony.

Instructor Codi Fenwick said director Debra Holmes talked about the different types of programs offered at Fort Hays as well as what type of education you need to have a job like hers.

“I learned a lot about the theater and programs at the college,” Wittkorn said. “I also had a great time with the people in my class.”
