Leadership team member Josh Norris helps students enroll in classes. On Feb. 26, 8th grade parents had a meeting in the lecture hall.

Eighth grade students had the opportunity to visit Hays High school. Students were able to tour the school, eat lunch in the cafeteria, ask leadership team questions and enroll in freshman classes.

On Feb. 25 the eighth graders came at 8:30 a.m. and left at 11:30 a.m. Students were divided into groups and lead by leadership team members.

“The visit was really beneficial because now I’m not as nervous for high school and I’m ready for new experiences,” eighth grader Elle Dreiling said.

Dreiling’s questions about the school and what classes to take for corresponding careers were answered by leadership team members in the lecture hall and cafeteria.

“After the tour, we filled out enrollment forms, which was difficult because there are so many classes to choose from that seem interesting,” Dreiling said.

Once everything was completed the students had lunch in the cafeteria and went back to Hays Middle school.

“I’m looking forward to the new opportunities in store for me at Hays High,” Dreiling said.
