Scholars Bowl competed at Kapaun-Mount Carmel on Jan. 10.

Both varsity and junior varsity competed at the meet.

The varsity team included sophomores Andrew Duke (captain), Allison Brooks, Alicia Feyerherm, junior Levi Hickert and senior Cameron Karlin.

The junior varsity team included sophomore Sophia Garrison (captain), junior Brandon Kennemer, seniors Spencer Wittkorn and Isaiah Schindler and freshmen Kristin Kuhl and Jada Thomas.

For Garrison, this was her first time being captain.

“I loved being captain,” Garrison said. “It brought me so much pride to see everyone play to their strengths when they answered questions from a wide variety of fields.”

Neither team placed.

“Of course we’re disappointed that we didn’t medal, but considering that we were among the top 8 teams at the tournament that included current and former state champions, I feel good about our prospects,” instructor Cheryl Shepherd-Adams said. “Andrew Duke once more led the scoring.”
