DECA competes in state competition
Hays High DECA will be competing at a state competition on March 4 through March 6.
DECA is a class that prepares students in marketing and finance in schools around the world.
Twenty students from Hays High DECA will be participating in State DECA.
“It is an opportunity for students to compete in a variety of events related to marketing, finance, and entrepreneurship,” DECA advisor Shaina Prough said.
The event will take place on March 4 through March 6.
“State DECA is held in Overland Park, Kan.,” Prough said.
DECA’s competitive events work with the National Curriculum Standards of the marketing, business management, finance and hospitality career clusters.
“Students can participate as long as they submit a research paper in their chosen event,” Prough said. “There is no qualifier competition.”
