Looking back 10, 20, 50 years ago
The Guidon staff has decided to include a monthly feature in which it will look through past editions of the newspaper to see the new events that were being reported 10, 20 and 50 years ago during each particular month.
10 Years Ago
November 2007
- Debate had its most successful season in recent history.
- Seniors went to Washington and New York on senior trip.
- FFA attended nationals.
- Senior Brendon Campbell raised money for those in need.
- Athletes began conditioning for baseball and softball.
20 Years Ago
November 1997
- No issue was printed that November.
50 Years Ago
November 1967
- Debaters won a sweepstakes.
- Three seniors received national merit honors.
- A history teacher offered his students an opportunity to be excused for the weekly assignment if they could catch a cricket and put in a cage to show him.
- Cross Country team competed in Fort Hays Meet.
- The sophomore class had the highest percentage of students on the honor roll.
