Six boys cross country medalists at McPherson
The boys cross country team had five varsity medalists and one junior varsity medalist at the meet in McPherson.
Junior Zachary Hopp took third for the Indians with a time of 18:02. He was followed by sophomore Ethan Shippy in 10th with a time of 18:52 and freshman Allen Zollinger in 13th with a time of 19:01. Senior Dylan Schmitt and sophomore Caden Cunningham rounded out the medalists with times of 19:07 and 19:10, taking 14th and 15th places. FreshmanHunter Olsen took 27th with a time of 20:02 and sophomore Alex Tinkel took 37th with a time of 20:27 to conclude the varsity scores.
On junior varsity, junior Chantz Taliaferro medaled with a time of 20:24 and took with third place.
As a team, the Indians finished with 55 points, only behind Hutchinson with 46. Taking third and fourth with 90 and 101 points were El Dorado and Huhler. Maize South was fifth with 107. Rounding out the team scoring were Salina South with 167, Maize with 169, McPherson with 177 and Salina Central with 253.
